How to Install the HorizonsMC Modpack (Modrinth App + Offsite Mods)​

Welcome to HorizonsMC, a massive modded Minecraft experience for 1.20.1 packed with magic, technology, exploration, and custom content. This guide will walk you through how to install the full experience using the official Modrinth Launcher, along with a few essential offsite mods.

🛠 Requirements​

• Modrinth App (recommended): https://modrinth.com/app
• Java 17 or higher (automatically handled by launcher)
• At least 8 GB RAM (16 GB+ recommended)
• Internet access to download mods and offsite files

Step 1: Install the Modrinth App​

1. Download the Modrinth Launcher from https://modrinth.com/app
2. Install and open the launcher
3. Log in with your Microsoft Minecraft account

Step 2: Install HorizonsMC from Modrinth​

1. In the Modrinth App, go to the “Browse Modpacks” tab
2. Search for “HorizonsMC”
3. Click the modpack, then click “Install”
4. After it finishes, select it from your Installed Modpacks list
5. Click “Play” – but wait! You’ll need to install a few required external mods first…

Step 3: Add Required Offsite Mods​

Due to Modrinth hosting policies, a few critical mods need to be added manually. These enable questing, team management, and compatibility features.

How to Install Offsite Mods:​

1. From the Modrinth launcher, click the three dots next to the HorizonsMC instance
2. Choose “Open Folder”
3. Open the mods folder
4. Download and drop the following .jar files into that folder:
